2 weeks

Exactly two weeks from today, I will be traveling to Spain. I'll probably be somewhere in Europe, but since I have no idea about flights other than when I leave Houston and arrive in Sevilla, I could be making that up. I'm starting to lose my mind about this.

Things I need to do:
-PACK.
-BUY THINGS.
-more packing
-eat at ChickFilA, Pei Wei, some Bar-b-que place, and Rico's. I am not ashamed to admit I know I'll miss fast food.
-say goodbye to friends and family
-refuse to let Tom go back to Oklahoma. This will probably occur in the airport when he's supposed to fly home, and I am sobbing and hysterical and making a fool of myself because I'm going to miss him more than I can possibly imagine, or express.
-get a temporary engagement ring that doesn't look like a high school promise ring. Not necessary for life, but since I almost cried when I had to think about putting my ring away for 8 months, I need something shiny to replace it.
-more packing, and more buying of things.

I really don't think I can do this.

One Month

In one month I will be departing for Spain to start teaching. It still doesn't seem real to me though. It's like it's a movie or someone else's life. It's so weird to start stockpiling contacts, medicines, and all those other things I need to make my life run smoothly. I'm starting to address what I actually need to pack, and what I still need to buy to pack, and what I can buy when I get over there.

Things on my list:
-Get health form sent in
-Cut my hair short, preferably in a way that will grow out well and doesn't need to be blow-dried or straightened.
-Figure out my teaching clothes situation
-Buy teacher clothes
-Pack
-Pick up visa
-Repack
-See the boyfriend (and hopefully his parents)
-Celebrate an early birthday
-Figure out how to share American culture without weighing down suitcases
-Contact my school
-Practice Spanish. (yeah, good job me for forgetting it all)

There's probably a million more things that I've forgotten, but isn't that to be expected when you move across the ocean for a school year? Also, I am expecting that I'll buy clothes, shoes, BOOTS, and accessories in Spain, so I don't want to pack too much. It's kinda fun to picture myself walking down to the Mediterranean and just sitting out or visiting the Alhambra and picturing what I'll wear.

I think the hardest thing is going to be leaving Tom. He's been pretty great about dealing with all of my freakouts and nerves and the fact that he got a 2 year, long distance engagement when he proposed. Boyfriend, you are incredibly patient to wait that long for a wife, especially one that's going to turn your peaceful life upside down.

I'm so excited/scared/nervous/thrilled about this....
